Terms of Service

Research Capture is an actively maintained service. Features, request handling, storage behavior, and supported platforms may change as the service evolves.

You may use the service only if you can form a binding agreement and may lawfully use the product in your location.

The service is intended only for people who are at least 13 years old, and it is not directed to children under 13.

You are responsible for activity that happens through your authenticated account or session.

Keep account credentials, device access, and any linked billing or workspace access under your control.

Use the service for lawful research, note-taking, collaboration, and account-management activity.

Do not use the service to abuse, probe, overload, disable, scrape, reverse engineer, or interfere with the app, service endpoints, notifications, or operations surfaces.

Do not attempt to bypass authentication, entitlement, privacy, access-event, rate-limiting, attachment, download-token, or recovery controls.

Do not upload, import, transmit, or request material that you do not have the right to use.

Workspace access, collaboration permissions, export eligibility, admin overrides, and billing-linked capabilities follow the rules shown in account and workspace settings.

Paid or entitlement-gated features may change when subscription, billing, workspace, or safety state changes.

The service may suspend or revoke access when account, entitlement, billing, fraud, abuse, security, or safety conditions require it.

App Store subscriptions must be managed, cancelled, and requested for refund through the App Store subscription and refund processes for the Apple account that made the purchase.

Cancelling a subscription stops future renewal but does not automatically refund past charges. Access remains available until the paid period ends unless the provider reports a refund, revocation, expiration, billing failure, fraud, abuse, or safety state that removes access earlier.

A refund or revocation reported by the billing provider may remove paid entitlements and subscription-gated access after the provider event is verified and reconciled by the service.

Support can open a refund, dispute, or billing-review case to help inspect account, subscription, transaction, and entitlement state, but support cannot guarantee a provider refund outcome.

If provider records, account state, or support evidence disagree, the support case remains open until the billing matter is resolved or closed.

You keep responsibility for the content you create, upload, import, or submit through the service.

The product supports export requests, deletion requests, notification preferences, unsubscribe handling, and support contact workflows.

Search analytics consent is separate from Privacy Policy acceptance and terms acceptance.

Export and deletion requests remain request records until they are reviewed and closed. Research Capture targets review within 30 days of request creation, with one additional 30-day extension when provider coordination or unusually large scope requires it.

Completed account deletion requests pseudonymize account, identity, device, subscription, workspace, support, notification, export, abuse-signal, admin-override, billing-transaction, and email-suppression records before the deletion request is resolved.

Your use of the service is also governed by the Privacy Policy and Accessibility Statement.

You keep ownership of the content you create, upload, import, or submit through the service, subject to any rights held by others.

You grant Pangea Research Lab a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, process, reproduce, display, transmit, secure, export, delete, and create operational copies of that content only as needed to provide, maintain, protect, support, and improve the service.

You represent that you have the rights needed to submit the content and grant this limited service-operation license.

Pangea Research Lab keeps ownership of the service, software, design, documentation, trademarks, and other product materials, except for user content and third-party materials.

Feedback or suggestions may be used to improve the service without creating an obligation to you.

Features, routes, storage behavior, product rules, and availability may change at any time.

Research Capture may add, remove, pause, or modify features when product requirements, platform requirements, or safeguards change.

The product may be unavailable during maintenance, deployment, incident response, or provider-side outages.

We may suspend, limit, or terminate access if use of the service violates these terms, threatens the service or other users, creates legal risk, or requires a security response.

You may stop using the service at any time. Deleting the app or signing out does not automatically close open export, deletion, support, or billing requests.

The service is provided on an as-is and as-available basis.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, the service is provided without a guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure for every use case, or suitable for any particular purpose.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Pangea Research Lab is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from use of the service.

Contact support first with any dispute about the service, account access, billing state, content handling, or these terms so the matter can be reviewed through support.

The parties will try to resolve disputes informally for at least 30 days after support receives enough information to identify the account, workspace, subscription, transaction, or other affected record.

If informal resolution does not resolve the dispute, either party may pursue available remedies in a court or tribunal that has authority over the dispute.

Nothing in this section limits either party from seeking urgent relief for security abuse, unauthorized access, intellectual-property misuse, or other conduct that may cause immediate harm.

We may update these terms as the product changes. Continued use after an update means the updated terms govern the use that continues after the update takes effect.
